Sleep-Supporting Smoothie: Bedtime Snack

Bedtime smoothies are a great option for those who get hungry before bed but don't want to eat something heavy that might disrupt their sleep. They are like a healthy milkshake, providing fiber, protein, and micronutrients to help you wind down for the night.

Oatmeal cookie smoothie recipe

Makes 1 smoothie

Ingredients list

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup frozen banana pieces
  • 1 teaspoon almond butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, plus more for topping
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • Pinch of ground ginger
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon ashwagandha powder (optional)
  • 1⁄2 cup ice
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon raw honey (optional)
  • Granola, for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients except granola in a high-speed blender. Blend for 45 to 60 seconds, or until the oats are completely broken down and the mixture is creamy.
  2. Sprinkle with granola (if using) and cinnamon. Enjoy!
