Sleep-Supporting Smoothie: Bedtime Snack
Bedtime smoothies are a great option for those who get hungry before bed but don't want to eat something heavy that might disrupt their sleep. They are like a healthy milkshake, providing fiber, protein, and micronutrients to help you wind down for the night.
Oatmeal cookie smoothie recipe
Makes 1 smoothie
Ingredients list
- 1 cup almond milk
- 2 tablespoons old-fashioned oats
- 1 cup frozen banana pieces
- 1 teaspoon almond butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1⁄2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, plus more for topping
- Pinch of nutmeg
- Pinch of ground ginger
- Pinch of salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon ashwagandha powder (optional)
- 1⁄2 cup ice
- 1⁄2 teaspoon raw honey (optional)
- Granola, for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients except granola in a high-speed blender. Blend for 45 to 60 seconds, or until the oats are completely broken down and the mixture is creamy.
- Sprinkle with granola (if using) and cinnamon. Enjoy!
